Easy Christmas Crafts: Spiral Wire Wreath Ornament

Inexpensive wire, some ribbon and a few beads quickly become a fun and interesting spiral wire wreath ornament to add to the holiday decorations.

This first example used 24 gauge floral wire.

Easy Christmas Crafts: Spiral Wire Wreath Ornament Materials and Tools:

Wire 22 or 24 gauge 
Ribbon 
Small beads 
Wire cutters (needle nose pliers)  
Ruler  
Round object roughly 3/8 inch in diameter (I used a large craft pencil)

The Steps for How to Make the Easy Christmas Crafts: Spiral Wire Wreath Ornament:

Measure and cut two yards of the wire.

Be careful not to crease the wire.

This example used 22 gauge copper wire in a gun metal color.

The color of this wire is more versatile for a variety of colors of beads and ribbons, however the 24 gauge floral wire is easier to work into the shape.

Tightly wrap the wire around the pencil or other round object.

Remove the wire from the pencil and gently stretch the spiral.

Add the beads to the spiral. You can adjust their position later.

Cut two lengths of narrow ribbon - one 10-inch length and one 12-inch length.

Form the spiral into a circle. Bend the wire ends and crimp them together.

Push the 12-inch length of ribbon through two spirals to the left of the junction and two spirals to the right of the junction.

Pull the ribbon ends even, and tie a knot close to the wire.

This helps hold the ends of the spiral together.

Tie another knot near the ends of the ribbon to form the hanging loop.

Trim the ends of the ribbon at an angle.

Thread the second length of ribbon through the spirals - two to the left and two to the right of the junction.

Pull the ends of the ribbon even and form a decorative bow.

Trim the ribbon ends at an angle.

Position the beads, if necessary.

The simple and pretty spiral wire wreath ornament is finished and ready to display.
