Easy Paper Crafts: Paper Strips Flower Materials and Tools:
Cardstock in three different colors
Yarn (I used #10 crochet yarn)
Ruler
Pencil
Scissors
Hole Punch
Clothespin or binder clip
The Steps for How to Make the Easy Paper Crafts: Paper Strips Flower:
Cut the materials.
Cut seven pieces of cardstock 1/2 inch wide by 8 1/2 inches long.
Cut seven pieces of cardstock 1/2 inch wide by 6 1/2 inches long.
Cut seven pieces of cardstock 1/2 inch wide by 4 1/2 inches long.
Cut a piece of yarn 36 inches long.
Begin punching holes in the ends of each piece of cardstock.
Make the hole roughly 1/4 inch from the end and centered across the paper strip.
Make the holes in both ends of all of the paper strips.
Fold the yarn in half and anchor the folded end.
In this case, I used my pencil as the anchor.
Push the cut ends of the yarn through the first set of three of the paper strips.
Push it through one end of the longest strip, one end of the medium strip and one end of the shortest strip.
Next, push the yarn through the shortest strip, the medium strip and the longest strip to finish adding the first set of strips to the yarn.
Use the clothespin or binder clip to hold the strips on the yarn.
Hint: Work on a flat surface to prevent the sections from rotating around the yarn and getting tangled.
Add the second set of three strips in the same way - large, medium, small then small, medium, and large.
Add the remaining sets of three strips for a total of seven sections.
Pull the ends of the yarn together firmly but not too tightly.
The ends of the strips need to fit together around the circle of yarn.
Tie a knot in the yarn to secure the shape.
Bring the ends of the yarn together and tie a knot near the end to form a loop.
Trim the ends of the yarn.
The pretty pink and burgundy Paper Strips Flower is finished and ready to hang on display.
Simple lengths of paper, a few punched holes and a length of yarn turn into a pretty decoration to display in a window, on a door or a wall.
Have fun!
Paper and a few tools make the Paper Strips Flower an inexpensive decoration to do any time of the year.
