The Steps for How to Make the Easy Christmas Crafts: Eight Squares Wreath Ornament:

Print two copies of the first page of the Eight Squares Wreath Ornament pattern and one copy of the second page for the positioning template.

Cut out the eight rounded squares.

I find it helpful to punch hole in the middle of the shape and cut an "X" before cutting around the inner edge of the shape.

If you are doing two colors decide which will be the back and which will be the front colors.

In this case, red will be the back color and green the front.

Position the first shape on the template.

Place dots of glue where the shapes will overlap.

Position the second shape over the first using the template.

Rotate the two glued shapes to the left such that the second shape is over the template where the first shape started.

Here's an example where the squares are straight edged without the middle being cut away.

This forms an interesting background for a decoration, in this case simple sequins in a tree shape.

This would also be a great way to display pictures.
