The Steps for How to Make the Easy Christmas Crafts: Button Wreath Ornament:
Draw a three-inch circle on a piece of paper and cut out for a template.
Pin the template to the felt.
Cut two of the circles from the felt.
Place the two felt circles together.
Position the button in the center of the circles.
Thread needle with two strands of thread. Tie a knot in one end.
Begin to attach the button by first hiding the thread's knot between the two felt circles.
Sew several stitches through each set of button eyes. These stitches not only hold the button in place, but they also add decoration to the button wreath ornament.
In this case, you do not need to add a thread shank to the button like shown in the how to sew on a button instructions.
After sewing the button in place, take the needle to the inside of the two circles, knot the thread and clip leaving a 1-inch thread tail.
Tie a knot in one end of the threads.
Hide the end knot between the two circles of felt.
Begin sewing around the edge of the two felt circles with a simple running stitch roughly 1/8 inch from the edge.
(The free e-book of How to Sew Stitches helps with basic stitches.)
After sewing roughly half the circle, stop and gently stuff the shape with fiberfill. Don't add too much - just add enough to make a gently rounded shape.
Continue stitching until the circle is almost closed.
Stop to add more fiberfill to the rest of the circular shape.
Pinch the edges between your fingers and finish sewing the two circles together.
Take the needle to the back of the button wreath ornament and tie a knot near the felt but don't cut the thread.
Fold one of the 8-inch ribbons in half to find the center point.
Place this point over the stitching in the back.
Sew several stitches over the center point of the ribbon to hold it in place.
Knot the thread near the felt.
Insert the needle through the felt and fiberfill to hide the end thread.
Trim the thread next to the felt.
Fold the ribbon and tie a knot in the ends to form the hanging loop.
Trim the ribbon ends at an angle.
Begin adding the beads.
Visualize the circle as a clock face. Place the first bead at the 4:30 position.
Place several stitches through the bead.
Add the other two beads next to the first making a close grouping of the beads.
Knot the thread next to the felt, but do not clip the thread.
Tie a bow in the second 8-inch ribbon.
Position the center of the bow just below the beads.
Attach the bow with several stitches.
Knot the thread next to the felt.
Push the needle through the felt and fiberfill to hide the thread end.
Clip the thread next to the felt.
Trim the ends of the ribbon at an angle.
